Meditation
Since Ayurveda regards the mind and body as united system, meditation is an integral part of the Ayurvedic health system because it focuses the mind as well as disciplining the body. Just as we eat well and exercise the body to keep it healthy so must we exercise the mind to keep it sharp, active and clear in the thought process.
What is Meditation?
Meditation is a technique of focus or concentration designed to control and calm the conscious mind thereby achieving an enhanced awareness of self in the present moment. Remember, meditation does not need to be related to a specific religion or belief system. Rather it is a term, which is represented in many different ways. For example, some common forms of meditation are Rosary Beads or Zen meditation as well as Transcendental Meditation or Mantra meditation.
How will it help me?
The awareness that we
achieve allows us to constructively
channel our mental energies so that
we can be more productive,
optimistic, peaceful,
stress-free and self-confident.
Most importantly meditation is a
pathway to increasing our spiritual
